Relay for Life!

Nate and I participated in our first Relay for Life - we didn't stay the night, but we walked a few laps to help the team. Relay for Life helps to raise funds for cancer research. The relay begins at 6:30pm and ends at 6:30am the following morning so each team takes turns having a team member walk throughout the night. This is an important event as we know too many people affected by this disease. We walked for Uncle Jacob and Dorothy Campbell whom we have lost and also for Uncle Kenny who continues to fight the battle - and is winning! We walked for Auntie Vallena and Auntie Carrie who have overcome this disease and are living cancer free! We walk for each and every one touched by this terrible disease and we pray for a cure in the near future!

A Perfect Kiss!

This picture was also taken at Sunday dinner, but I thought it deserved its own post! Nati was sitting with her Auntie Paloma and all of the sudden, deliberately turned to give her a perfect kiss on the lips! I was lucky enough to have my camera in hand to capture the moment!

July 19th, 2009 - Sunday Dinner

Sunday dinners seem to revolve around the babies these days! Taking turns holding them so the mommies can eat - not that anyone complains about holding these cute bundles!

Nati stopped jumping long enough for Auntie Lea to take a picture of her cute outfit!

All eyes on little Jacob!

Up-side-down fun with Nana!

July 13th, 2009 - 8 Months Old

Eight months old and ready to hit the gym! (Kid gym that is) We are going to "My Gym" a few times a week so Nati can interact with other children... and Mommy can interact with other adults during the day! Nati LOVES it! She likes to watch the other 'more mobile' children run around, plays with all the toys, walks (with assistance) on the balance beam, tumbles on the mats and loves the swing! Good fun to music in a colorful atmosphere!

First day of class!

Learning to share!!

Puppet show to music - the teachers are great with the kids!

Nati's favorite time in class - swings!!

Cute piggies!

Sunday Dinner in Kahala!

We had Sunday dinner at Uncle Josh and Auntie Lea's house this week. Cousin Jacob is getting so big! He's not quite ready to play (as much as Nati want's to play with him), but they enjoy being close to each other for now!

"Hi Jacob, can't wait to play with you!"

Won't be long before we can't get them to sit still for a photo!

Magic Island

We met some of Cielo's college friends at Magic Island and Nati got to play with two cute dogs, Gidget and Gizmo. Nati did great, she was very gentle... just wanted to touch their ears!

Playtime with Auntie Colleen!

Auntie Colleen came by for a visit Saturday morning and took the opportunity to get some one on one time with Nati. They played on the floor with Nati's toys and read books! It was so much fun to just watch them play!

Happy 4th of July!

Nati had a busy first 4th of July! We started the day with a parade in Kailua where Nati enjoyed watching the cars, horses and bands stroll by! She wore her patriotic red, white and blue dress and got plenty of attention, even from the participants in the parade. It was quite a hot day so we walked to Uncle Gregg and Auntie Anne's rental for a swim in the pool. Later, we had a BBQ at our house, then off to watch fireworks on the beach. The fireworks were a good distance away, so they weren't very loud... perfect for her first experience.

Bring on the parade!

Nati enjoyed something in the parade so much...

...she had to lean forward to get a second look!

All cozy with Uncle Guy after a long swim!

Hard to eat poi when you smell burgers on the grill!

But Apa made it easier showing Nati how to open her mouth!

Nati still adores her Papa!

New Smile!

Nati has recently found her tongue and likes to show it in her smile!

Kats visit from Washington!

The Kats family came to the islands to celebrate Brandon's high school graduation! They rented a place here in Kailua so we were able to see them quite often. Nati enjoyed watching the kids play and Eric was able to keep her entertained for hours in the pool. We love having family visit, but we hate to see them go!!!

Getting to know her Uncle and Cousins!

"Hi Uncle Gregg!"

Enjoying the day with Tessa and Auntie Anne!

Curls!

Back home and relaxing in bed. Nati's hair is getting longer and starting to curl in the front - too cute!

2 Pi Day - Cody and Sara's Wedding

We drove up to Malibu on 2 Pi Day (June 28th - for us non math people). The wedding was at an estate overlooking the ocean - absolutely beautiful!

Cody's first sight of Sara - so happy!

Saying "I do"

All dressed up for the wedding!

Quick trip to SD

We made the jump across the Pacific to attend my Cousin Cody's wedding in Malibu. We stayed with Uncle Mike and Auntie Kim in Temecula so we could spend more time with family! Braeden is getting big - only one pound separates he and Nati. We also got to hang out with Auntie Lolo and the boys!

June 21st, 2009-Father's Day/Auntie P's B-day

The day started with our first shopping spree with Nana, Auntie Lea and Cousin Jakey! We went to a cute little store here in Kailua called "Little Sprouts". After shopping we went to lunch then home for naps. The dads got to watch golf on TV, go to Costco and enjoy lunch at The Shack! We ended the day together as a family at Apa and Nana's house for dinner.

You would think on Father's Day, Nati would watch where she steps!

Happy Birthday Auntie P!

June 16th, 2009 - 1st Dip in the Ocean!

After a few weeks of walking along the shore, we thought it was time to introduce Nati to the wonders of the warm Hawaiian waters. She LOVED it! I'm sure we will be spending many more days at the beach!
